Student of the Month

Each month Massac Junior High School staff members nominate and then vote for one female and male 7th grader and one male and 8th grade student. Students are nominated by teachers based on character traits such as being responsible, respectful, caring, fair and trustworthy.
Students of the Month - September 2017

Monique Hart - 7th Grade
Monique Hart is a seventh grade student at MJHS who has been selected as Student of the Month.  At school, Monique is active in basketball and FCA.  She also has interest in joining Beta Club, Track, and Volleyball when those seasons come around.  Outside of school, Monique is active in Girl Scouts.  She enjoys learning about Math and Science at school.  Her goals are to attend UCLA someday and study to become a teacher.
Luther Hawes - 7th Grade
Luther is a seventh grade student at MJHS and has also been selected as Student of the Month. Luther is active in soccer and cross country. When he’s not running around, he enjoys sitting down and reading his favorite book N.E.R.D.S.  Luther has set the ambitious goal of getting an “A” in every subject not only for this year, but for the rest of his life! He would also like to visit Mexico again at some point between studying sessions.  

Alison Brown - 8th Grade

Alison Brown is an 8th grade student at MJHS.  She enjoys playing guitar and participating in gymnastics during her free time.  She is a member of the MJHS Cheer Squad and is also an FCA leader.  Outside of school, she is active in her church youth group at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Alison enjoys to read.  One of her favorite title is The Conjuring.  Alison excels in ELA and Social Studies.  She hopes to someday attend the University of Kentucky and study Forensics.  In the meantime, Alison would like to graduate as class valedictorian of her 8th grade class.

Hayden Lloyd - 8th Grade

 Hayden Lloyd has been selected as an 8th grade Student of the Month. Hayden’s hobbies include playing Xbox, basketball, and soccer.  Hayden has been part of several school organizations such as Beta Club and participated on last year’s basketball and track teams.  Hayden’s best subject is Social Studies and he would like to someday take that knowledge of history and apply it to a degree in  architecture from the university of SIU.
